Dark fantasy from a new author which just about blew my mind.
The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey
A beautiful retelling of a tale from old Russian folklore.
The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas
The entire Throne of Glass series currently out. The last book will be out at the end of 2017
Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
Amazing and tragic historical fiction that revolves around the biggest maritime disaster in recorded history, one that I never knew about.
Night Film by Marisha Pessl
A dark mystery that is beautifully written and will keep you guessing long after you turn the last page.
The Mistborn Series by Brandon Sanderson
The first three in the Mistborn series. Wonderfully complex high fantasy to be devoured.
Uprooted by Naomi Novik
This is an absolute must-read. This high fantasy is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast and is as dark as it is beautiful.
Morning Star by Pierce Brown
The third book in the Red Rising series which is incredible science fiction with a Greek Pantheon flair.
The City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin
The third book in Cronin’s The Passage series – post-apocalyptic novels that span generations of survivors.
