Today was the second annual Hilltop City Bluegrass Festival in Somersworth, an event hosted by the Greater Somersworth Chamber of Commerce with proceeds benefiting the public schools. In lieu of the Rochester Fair, I opted to bring the kids (free for them!), stake out a section of lawn at the Somersworth High School Pavillion, and listen to the Appalachian twangs of banjo, bass, fiddle, and mandolin mountain music on a beautiful September day.

The children found one another, as they do, and played for hours in the shade. The matter needed to be investigated.
Officers McKnight and Deschenes let the troublemakers off the hook!
Wonderful event. Thanks to all who put this together. I hope there are many more of these to come!
