Any genre except erotica is accepted for consideration. Include as much detail as possible but do not include the full work as an attachment.  A simple email will suffice – you may embed images such as a book or album cover as well. You may include us on publicity email lists.

A tip from us would be to sign up with Word Slinger, an inexpensive book publicity firm that helps get reviews for indie authors.

If you are a local New England author (Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or Connecticut), we have two options for you.

  1. If you have a new release (about to be published, or newly released in the past three months), we will add your book details to our Local Author New Releases section.
  2. If you are a local author and your book was published more than three months ago, we would love to include you with an author interview.

Email is at reviewrequest [at] portsmouthreview [dot] com and include “Local Author” in the subject line.

We offer full page reviews for local northern New England business/establishment/production/event, etc. We’ll review anything local from musical bands to art exhibits to hotels to restaurants. As long as we can reach it, we can review it. We do not ask for money in exchange for these reviews, but a sample must be provided. For example, a restaurant can provide us with dinner for two (we’ll tip!), a band or exhibit will need to provide tickets, and we’d never say no to a hotel/B&B getaway. The point is, to review – we need to experience it.

While we are always honest, this isn’t Yelp. We don’t do hack jobs and we strive to focus on the positive and support our local community.

Contact Us to have your business/event reviewed.
